Today we had 1.5 hours for lunch. Woohoo!
Think I can get that long at work (and still finish at the same time?) To be honest, the break was needed to digest all the learning that we had done. Two thumbs up to the people that decided to have that longer lunch. (Of course that meant classes went to 6pm tonight...but they were all great.)
Chocolate! *insert Homer Simpson drooling sound* |
I had several people go with me to the noodle/salad/Mexican
food trio of restaurants I had found before and they were impressed that I knew
about them. Well, perhaps that is my interpretation of how they felt...still, I'm sure that's what they were thinking. ;) I think most of us had something
from both the salad place and the noodle place.
There was no line at either of the places. When I asked the salad guy about it, he
reminded me it was Sunday and most of the offices in the building were
closed. Wow! I had completely lost my
days-of-the-week-knowing-ness since they are all school days right now.
Puppets - Not edible like the chocolate but still cool |
After class ended this evening, I ran into a person in the
elevator and we both ended up wanting to go shopping. That's the cool part about this program - you might not know each other but if you're walking in the same direction you start talking and learning about each other. She had actually been to Prague shortly after the iron curtain was lifted so I was interesting to hear how things have changed since the last time she had visited. We had fun exploring the old town area for
gifts. Yes, the shops we went into were
aimed at tourists but sometimes those tourist shops have the touristy things
you want to buy!
A couple of highlights were the Belgium chocolate store and
the puppet store. I resisted (right now
at least) buying a puppet. As far as the
chocolate place goes…I’m going to plead the 5th in case none of the
chocolate makes it back home. ;)

I bet your mom would love some chocolate...:-)
Don't resist the puppet, use it in a story.
You could send it with chocolate to your mom...
LOL
