Cafe Imperial |
To the right is a photo of the Cafe. Once again, the photos don’t do the room justice. (Perhaps if my iPhone hadn’t gotten wet, the photos would look better.) I'm just posting the main one right now of the Cafe to give a glimpse of how it is all put together. You can sort of see how the ceiling is designed with small tiles and the elaborate pillars in the small photo. (Yes, Mom, I tried to get some close-ups of those too.) :)
I have taken my big bag over to the other hotel already but have asked for a late check out so I can keep enjoying my Imperial Hotel room. I’m sure the other hotel is fine but considering it brags about its low cost on a marquee outside the door, I’m thinking it lacks the frills of my current hotel. Of course, if EF College Study Tours were using this hotel, I probably wouldn’t have been able to afford the trip. I believe I paid for a single so I won’t have a roommate. I guess I’ll find out later today if I did that correctly.
Prague has some cute modern trolleys that go through the
streets. I haven’t ventured far from my
hotel yet but I’ve looked on the schedule for the week and it looks like well
be seeing most of the big landmarks and sites as a group.
I still have 100+ pages to read in The Castle. I’m going to go try to finish it off.
---Update---
I am now at the new hotel. It is fine. It seems clean. The bed is a little strange...feels more like a futon bed but still comfortable enough. I would say the room feels like an Ikea copy-cat decorated it.
An example of the differences between the hotels:
First hotel room's marble bathroom:
Current hotel room's not-so-marble bathroom:
Nothing is wrong with the new room but it doesn't have a hotel safe and I am kicking myself that I didn't grab the shampoo I had left-over from the first hotel since there is none in this bathroom. The soap is attached in a dispenser to the wall...which is fine...just different.
There seems to be a large number of groups here...especially groups of teens and college students. I'm assuming it is a typical hotel that travel groups use.
