Prague Blog #6 – First Day of School and Prague Tour

Castle Guard - They have to be fit, good-looking, under 28, etc.
They don't interact with tourists and change every hour.
I was relieved that a breakfast buffet was included with our room.  Woohoo!  And, in case you were wondering, they did have bacon but it wasn’t the same as the bacon from the other place.  I tried to be fair but…no…nuh uh…not the same at all.

The first day of class was very cool.  The building where we had class is where Kafka used to work.  (He also used to write in the café where I had the awesome bacon.)  So, it was only appropriate that we read his book and discussed it today.  (See other blog for more writing ah hahs.)

Window in Castle's Cathedral

This afternoon we did a walking tour of Prague’s Castle and walked back to the hotel over the Charles Bridge and through Wenceslas Square (As in the song...Good King Wenceslas looked out...sing with me...) near the Astronomical Clock.  The city is sooooo pretty.  (Adding more “o”s emphasizes the prettiness, right?)

My feet are sore now.  As a new student I was invited out to another dinner but that’d mean I’d have to get up off my bed and move again.  Instead, I grabbed a sandwich from the Turkish place across the street.  Now I am fed, showered, and in my PJ’s.  Ready for a night of….well, not having to read any more of Kafka’s The Castle!
